I used this book to help prepare for a final in my Professional Responsibility class and to subsequently study for the MPRE. It was more helpful in the former, but before I say anything else, I have to alert people that this book is riddled with errors. The errors aren't substantive, but are rather the kind of errors you'd see when someone didn't bother to edit their work. The sentence structure, spelling, punctuation etc are all marred with mistakes. There are errors everywhere and it can sometimes impede your understanding of the meaning of a sentence. For a book that is already fairly thin, this is sort of ridiculous.The book covers the caveats of duty of confidentiality and conflict of interest, the two most important subjects in an ethics class, and the most frequently tested topics on the MPRE. It is clear in its explanations of the doctrines and has some helpful examples, which are mostly drawn from precedent cases. The review questions at the end of each chapter are also pretty critical to one's understanding and comprehension. For this reason, the book is very helpful.For the MPRE, however, there may be some shortcomings. First, the MPRE has gotten harder and it's more essential to have done several practice tests with explanations than simply have a broad knowledge of each of the subjects that are tested. The questions are tricky, and are designed so that the basic knowledge you already have is assumed in the question. In this book, there is only one practice test at the end, which does not contain explanations. It doesn't even have 60 questions. This is where the book is really lacking.All in all, it's a good book to have as a guide for professional responsibility, and is fairly adequate for the MPRE, but lacks the necessary components of a test preparation book, such as a plurality of practice tests with explanations. It may be a wise idea to use the book and find practice tests from another source.

I had a fairly entertaining PR class, and the professor told us he would use MPRE style multiple choice questions, like those found in the back of this book. I used this guide, read through it 2 times and did the practice tests. Got an A in the class. It doesn't address state-specific rules obviously, so make sure you don't miss any of those.

This was extremely helpful in studying for the MPRE and my law school exam. I got an A in law school and a scaled 95 for the MPRE. Very thorough. Read this book and you definitely know the material. I have all the Emmanuel books and they've all been great.

I always find the Emanuel outlines thoroughly cover their subject matter. This one is no different. The outline provides a study of the model rules of ProfessionalResponsibility.

This book was helpful for me as I studied for the MPRE. I had taken the Professional Responsibility Class the summer after 1L year, and did not purchase this book until it was time for the MPRE study. This book is a summary of all the rules that are found on the MPRE. It has detailed explanations of the law, and questions that test your understanding. Reviewing the answers to see what I did right and wrong was the most helpful part of studying for the MPRE. This book was all I used to study for it because a friend of mine had used it and said that they passed easily with a 113 score. In Idaho you need an 85. I liked this book because the rules were clearly laid out, and the hypos made all the rules memorable. That is what I appreciate in a study aid, something that helps the law stand out, so I can easily recall it during an exam. One other thing I appreciated about this book is that it had exam tips, which I found helpful, and helped me pass the MPRE.

Like all Emanuel law outlines, this book has a capsule summary (a short course outline), an extended outline with more elaborate explanations, exam tips, and sample exam-type questions. In addition, and this may be unique to this aid or a new feature, this one contains a casebook correlation chart with references to five of the leading Professional Responsibility casebooks. As such, I think this book not only can serve as an excellent primer for the MPRE but also for the Professional Responsibility Class. While I have already taken Professional Responsibility and the MPRE--I was asked to review this as a 3L looking back--I think these features would make it a great resource for killing two birds with one stone.

This book just waste paper and guide you nothing. I used the free outline from pli site and watching its vedio together giving me a basic solid understanding on the subject. But I do not get that from this book. Two weeks ago, I got the Examples and Explanations on the same subject which give me a good understanding on the subject. If you need to buy one, I recommad the one from Examples and Explanations, and NOT this JUNK.

I used this book in conjunction with Strategies and Tactics for the MPRE. I first read the outline and then I used Strategies and Tactics for practice. Both aids were great and very helpful. I scored an 85 on the first try and I only needed a 75.
