The author has many years of experience as a dentist, so the information she brings to this book is helpful and applies in the real world. For a long time, the world of dentistry has been changing. We have not noticed this because for the most part we are still reactionary to dental problems. We wait to address a cavity until it shows up. We get fillings after there is a problem. Teeth are removed after there is a problem. False teeth are put in after others are removed. But, what if all of these problems could be avoided? Or even eliminated all together just by doing things different? This book lays out some of these thoughts and gives actual information and advice that can lead to better dental health, which in turn leads to a much healthier life all around.I have always had good teeth. I brush everyday and watch what I eat because I know that pop, candy, and other foods can cause some serious issues for your teeth. But, as I get older I do worry about what that means for my teeth. Should I be using different products or changing routines? This book did a good job of addressing my concerns and letting me know things that I can do in the future and currently to keep my teeth and my body as healthy as possible. The book is well organized and is easy to read with very little dental jargon to deal with.
